This course is designed to improve students’ performance on all three sections of the SAT exam.
Colleges use the SAT to identify qualified students. Excellent scores will guarantee a strong first impression on any college application. The Sanidas Academy SAT prep program meets for four hours a week for 18 weeks. Each participant will receive our custom 400-page SAT workbook upon registration. Our instructors tailor the intensive curriculum to each student’s needs, ensuring improvement in math, reading, and writing. And the course doesn’t end with the exam—our instructors are here to advise students on every step of the application and acceptance process. This is a 16-week (4hr/sessions) program.
G & T Prep
Parents are always looking for more competitive environments to place their children into. This is why Gifted & Talented programs have become so popular. Gifted & Talented programs/schools require a test be taken. A student must score a 99 to be part of the lottery to be accepted by a G&T school. This curriculum is usually labeled as “accelerated” but that is nothing more than a fallacy. The curriculum runs is one year ahead without any acceleration. For example, my 3rd graders have the exact same math homework as my G&T 2nd graders. Being ahead by a year has its advantages when it comes time for: state tests, shsat, act or sat tests. The programs are individualize just like the rest of our work and are offered in a one on one setting to ensure focus and retention.
This course prepares middle schoolers for the Specialized High School Admissions Test.
The SHSAT is the only tool used to evaluate students applying to prestigious New York high schools. Our instructors work with each middle school student to ensure that he/she has the knowledge and confidence needed to secure an excellent score. The Specialized High Schools that require the SHSAT are:
Bronx High School of Science
Brooklyn Latin School
Brooklyn Technical High School
High School for Math, Science and Engineering at City College
High School for American Studies at Lehman College
Queens High School for Sciences at York College
Staten Island Technical High School
Stuyvesant High School
This program is eight 2-hour sessions.
